Vacuum forming mold is used in a thermoforming process where a hot plastic sheet is pulled over a mold and shaped by vacuum pressure. This method is simple, efficient, and widely used in packaging, food trays, medical blister packs, and lightweight covers. The main strengths are low tooling cost, fast turnaround, and good flexibility for design changes. Compared with other molding methods, vacuum forming is more suitable for small and medium production, especially for large but relatively simple parts. However, it cannot match the fine detail or mechanical strength of injection molded parts, and it is less suitable for highly complex shapes.
